Wheels...Circles, Turning...
Wheel OF the YEAR
Remember we mentioned that the Sabbats, our holidays. are also called the "Wheel of the Year"?
Remember?
In Wicca, the year doesn't end with New Years Eve. It is in constant movement. It keeps going around and around like a circle. After Spring, you get Summer. After Summer you get Fall... After Fall you get Winter...After Winter, it doesn't stop there, cause you get spring again.
A circle is a cycle that keeps turning. A wheel!
See if you can remember the 8 Sabbats ... Hint. if you forget, look back to the Sabbat pages!
Yule, Imbolc, Ostara, Beltane, Midsummer, Lammas, Mabon, Samhain
They all fit nicely in a wheel.. a wheel that reminds us of the turning seasons!
YOU can make your own wheel to put in your Book of Shadows! You want to make a wheel with 8 sections like a pie. Then you can put the name and date in each pie section, and WooHo! YOU have your own wheel of the year to remember the Sabbats, our holiday's!!
As you learn more, which you will, you can add to your wheel of the year. So enough, you will see the year very different. It will make a whole bunch of sense.
Try to make one
You can make it simple, like the one below...
OR....colorful like this one!
Do you like to paint?
YOU can make your wheel of the year any way you want!!
YOu can cut out pictures that remind you of the season and holiday.
Make it special. Put it on thick paper, and every year when you learn something new, you can add it to your wheel. This Page that you create will last for a long time...like the wheel!
Remember- The wheel goes round, and round.... round and round....!!
I like the one above!!
So many creative wheels..
WOW
