Spiral Tree Grove has been in existence since December of 2000, so over the year we have made some layers in order to accommodate our members. We are primarily a teaching Grove with an extensive Inner Grove clergy-in-training program, but our Grove's Outer members from Guest Members to Advanced Root Member are our foundation. You may notice by surfing our webpage's that we have 'themes', one being a tree and the other a spiral. Our Outer Grove members are the 'trees' within our Grove as they represent our Grove foundation & connection within the 'earth' aspect of Wicca.
We have members in our church who have been with us for years, as well as new people. Either way, all of these wonderful people make up the Spiral Tree Grove family.
To become an Outer Grove member you must me us first at a new members meeting. Refer to:
Our Outer Grove
Branch Member
If you are a member of our Outer Grove, you are also referred to as a "branch" member according to our by-laws.
Our Outer Grove (Branch) members can join our E-group and will receive postings about open rites, upcoming activities, workshops and general Grove announcements.
An Outer Grove (Branch) Member consists of those Grove members, pagan friends, solitaries & family members who attend Sabbats, Workshops /Celebrations when they see fit.
Qualifications:
Must attend a new members meeting. See Membership Information page.
Then basically join us in rite and have a good time!
There is no ritual attendance requirement for Outer Grove (Branch) Membership. You join us when you see fit, however, to remain within our E-group to receive postings, we ask that you stay in contact and attend at least one rite a year.
Can attend all Sabbats, Workshops and campouts.
**Full Moons are closed to Branch member. (Invite only)
There is no obligation to move into Root Membership.
An Outer Grove Member can eventually become a Root Member after a certain amount of time & dedication, if he/she wants to be more involved with the working of the church.
Root Members receive a number of basic classes, homework and discussion topics to better understand our traditions beliefs and basic Wicca information.
A Root Member will receive discounts on rites, workshops & campouts we charge a fee for.
A Root Member is invited to attend all open rituals including Full Moons, Discussion groups, activities & retreats.
A Root Member has much more responsibility helping with larger events, new members, clean up, set up and activities within our Grove.
Qualifications:
Has shown increased dedication as an Outer Grove (Branch) Member within the Church for roughly 1 year.
Has attended a certain amount of Sabbats, workshops etc with consistent ritual attendance.
Root Member determination is done case-by-case.
There is no obligation to move into Advanced Root Membership.
Given expanded Class work and Self-Growth projects to better understand ones spirituality and our tradition.
Will be an assistant to the Ritual Leader(s) & Clergy and can help with purification, grounding, meditations, and set-up as needed.
Can attend ALL rituals except "closed Inner Grove" rites and dark moon celebrations.
This is an independent position; However, if your goal is to receive clergy training, you must be an Advanced Root Member first.
There is never a guarantee of moving into the Inner Grove training. (See Inner Grove clergy program for more details)
Qualifications:
Much more noticeable dedication to the Grove, Self-growth and Spirituality.
Has been a 'Basic' Root Member for over 6 months; in good standing and can demonstrate understanding of basic Wiccan philosophies and topics.
Advanced Root Member determination is done case-by-case.
A Guest Member is a person who has other outside obligations to other Groups/Covens but likes to join us for an occasional ritual, workshop or celebration.
Can attend all open Sabbats, realizing that if space or participation numbers are an issue, our church members will have first space over a Guest Member.
Guest members will not receive posting via our E-group, but can refer to the calendar page for upcoming events.
Qualifications:
Spiral Tree Grove always enjoys having other coven members join in our festivities, providing they agree with the Grove's basic beliefs.
EVERY member of our Grove and or guest must abide by our Etiquette sheet.
